From the Benton Courier...

This is a response from the Benton Courier email address regarding an email we sent to the various media sources yesterday regarding our previous post (Mike Beebe: My Circle Of Friends). We thought it was rather interesting...

Mike Beebe: My Circle Of Friends...

This morning the Beebe campaign sent an email attacking Asa Hutchinson for having Vice President Dick Cheney, Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney campaign for him. We decided to take a look at Mike’s circle of friends and I think everyone will recognize the true supporters of Mike Beebe. The email stated that “Mike Beebe is a product of Arkansas and he believes in Arkansas.” Mike, how many times are you going to tell us that you believe in Arkansas? If you believe in Arkansas as much as you claim, why do you go to Hollywood to raise money? Why do you hire political consultants from New York? Mike you tell everyone your plan for better jobs, affordable healthcare and only the best for our children’s education yet you served in the Arkansas Senate for twenty years and what have you accomplished besides raising taxes in excess of billions of dollars? Mike, you have had twenty years to prove that you believe in Arkansas and you have not done anything. Please keep on attending Hollywood fundraisers and pandering to Howard Dean’s Democrat Party so that true Arkansans will know The Truth about Mike Beebe…

Mike Beebe depends on actress Barbara Streisand to get elected.

Flip Flop Beebe

Mike Beebe is not only accepting contributions from unethical sources, meeting with campaign consultants in his state office and raising taxes, but he is also flip-flopping on the issue of gay foster parents. Mike Beebe...What is your position? I think the average Arkansan is having a bit of a problem understanding all the different positions you take and how often they change. A week ago Warwick Sabin (Arkansas Times) published an article that stated Mike Beebe held a meeting with the Stonewall Democrats and stated that if elected governor he would do his best to stop a measure that would ban gays from becoming foster parents. Right after that the Arkansas Supreme Court made a decision allowing gays to become foster parents. When Mike Beebe was asked about this he stated he had "no opinion" on the ruling at the time; a short time later Beebe said that he thought it to be in the best interest of Arkansas children to not be placed in gay foster homes. Now, remember before this ruling was released, Mr. Beebe had already told the Stonewall Dems. that he basically supported their endeavors and as a result the Stonewall Dems. endorsed Mr. Beebe. The Andrew Demillo (AP) published an article today that stated that the Stonewall Democrats had withdrawn their endorsement of Mr. Beebe because it seems that they don't like flip-floppers as well. Mike Beebe states what he thinks Arkansans want to hear and will say anything to get elected. Mike we wait patiently for your next flip-flop and look forward to bringing THE TRUTH to the Arkansas people....

Marion Berry's Consultant Connected To Extortion And Tax Evasion...

Last summer we brought you the story of Marion Berry paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to "Tyronza Delta Consultants, Inc." for access to voters in black areas of the delta.

Since then, The Truth has learned that Tommy Davis, Sr., one of the principal office holders had previously been involved with Rep. Ben McGee, D-Marion, the man who pleaded guilty to extortion and tax evasion for his work with "Delta Consultants," a company run by Tommy Davis and Ben McGee.

In a January, 16, 1998 article in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, it was reported that "the indictment handed up by a federal grand jury in Little Rock charges McGee with two counts of extortion as well as wire fraud, tax evasion and lying to the Internal Revenue Service. According to the indictment, he owes $ 511, 177.30 in delinquent taxes."

The same article goes on to state that "McGee sent an invoice to the Arkansas First Committee in the name of Delta Consultants asking for $ 45,000 in payment, reportedly for consultant services performed by Dr. Rutha Carr in the effort to legalize casino gambling in Arkansas, the indictment says. That invoice was then faxed to Baldwin with instructions to pay only $ 20,000.

On Jan. 24, 1995, Southland issued a $ 10,000 check to Delta Consultants that was deposited in McGee's personal bank account, the indictment says.

About three months after passage of the racetrack legislation, which took effect Feb. 16, 1995, Southland cut a second $ 10,000 check to Delta Consultants that McGee deposited in his personal account, the indictment added."

A simple search on the Arkansas Secretary of State webpage shows that Tommy Davis and Ben McGee were the respective President and Vice President of "Delta Consultants."

"Delta Consultants" had their charter revoked in 1998.

This leads us to ask, why would Marion Berry pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to consultants with clear ethical and legal problems? Marion Berry, clearly would pay or do anything to win...

We believe that Arkansans will not stand for this any longer. It is time for new, ethical leadership in the first district.

Education and Immigration...

The Truth has noticed that Mike Beebe will not answer the questions the voters want to know. How can someone run for Governor and NOT answer the questions at hand? Notice this Q & A from the Benton County Daily Record:

www.nwanews.com/bcdr/Editorial/23376/

"We won’t know for a while whether or not additional school reforms are needed in Arkansas...The first school year with these reforms in place has ended, but reports regarding that first-year spending isn’t due for another two months. Reform takes time."

Okay, so "No-Mettle-Mike" doesn't want to commit to education reform...What about immigration?

"I have already issued two attorney general’s opinions on the subject of children of undocumented immigrants and may have requests for more, so I will decline from weighing in on that topic for now."

Well at least we know one thing about Mr. Beebe, he is going to run in the spirit of Bill Clinton and Mark Pryor - If the voters don't know where you stand on the issues, they won't vote against you! Well, we here at the Truth Blog will expose the REAL Mike Beebe...
