UNITED FOOD AND COMMERCIAL WORKERS ENDORSE HALTER FOR LT. GOVERNOR

Little Rock - The United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 2008 union today endorsed Bill Halter’s campaign for lieutenant governor.

“We believe Bill Halter is the best person to represent and fight for the interests of labor unions and working men and women in Arkansas as our state’s next lieutenant governor,” said UFCW President Charles Lee. “Bill Halter has had a long association with us, ever since he bagged groceries at Kroger and earned a college scholarship from the UFCW.”

UFCW Local 2008 is one of the largest labor unions in the state of Arkansas, helping workers to achieve better wages, better benefits, and safer working conditions. Local 2008 represents over 5,500 members in Arkansas and southwest Missouri in the retail and wholesale food industry, poultry and meat processing and packing, healthcare and health services, barbers, laboratory science, and the shoe manufacturing industry.
